- Welcome students and families to school or the district office
- Introduce yourself and ask how you help
- Ask for spelling of student names and street names and understand the response
- Ask if a family would like an interpreter
- Share basic information about special events, like conferences, family nights and enrollment events, etc.
- Ask if caregivers if they would like an interpreter
- Place basic attendance calls and understand key words in parents' response
- Ask caregivers who they are there to see (principal, nurse, teacher, etc.)
