School Spanish
for Office Professionals

What will office professionals learn in this course?

Office professionals will be able to ...

- Spanish literacy and pronunciation
- Ask for and understand spelling of names, addresses, and other information
- How to say student names correctly (even if they can't roll their Rs)
- How to welcome a family, introduce themselves, and ask how they can help
- Discuss the basics of attendance
- Discuss the basics of transportation
- Explain arrival and dismissal procedures
- Call home to request early pick-up
- Understand and respond to routine parent requests and communications
such as: early pick-ups, transportation changes, absence notifications and explanations, requests to speak with admin
- How to ask for and take basic contact information
- How to let a family know they are calling an interpreter
- How to listen for key words in order to understand a parent request or response

The Self-Paced Course

After the introductory module on pronunciation, welcoming and introductions, participants will have the ability to choose which pathways they choose at which time. While a campus office staff may prioritize attendance conversations next, a central office staff person may prioritize recording basic contact information. All modules are available for all to begin or review in the order they choose.

The Live Course

While all the topics above are "on the menu", live courses are limited to 6 weeks at a time. Booking one 6-week course, our team will work with you to determine the four most important topics. If you wish to cover all topics via a live option, we recommend pre-scheduling three 6-week courses with breaks in between. Each week of this course includes a "challenge" for participants to apply their learning on the job. Those who provide evidence of completion are recognized for their dedication and courage. (Yes, it takes courage to use a new language, and we love it when our students do it!)

Decide if self-paced or live is best for you.

You want ...

OPs to learn language they can use every day.

To be able to determine what language all participants to learn.

Participants to be able to differentiate what they prioritize, when.

OPs to learn continuously all year, resulting in the ability to say more.

Participants to have higher-support on fewer topics.

To concentrate all class into an intensive 6-week span

You believe in ...

Tiny bite-sized learning implemented consistently

Slightly larger chunks of learning implemented in a dedicated time.

You are prepared to ...

View your staff's course completion or attendance

Carve out professional development time specifically for language learning over 6 consecutive weeks

Your budget best fits ...
