“Señora?” “Miss?” “Should I change my name to be easier to pronounce?” Today is about all the considerations to take into account when deciding on your teacher-name for Spanish-speaking parents … and how to choose one. Hopefully the video below will take away some of the stress and boost your confidence in making this decision. Micro-LessonCheck out this video on all your options, and why you might choose one over another. Just like it is important for us to get the names of our students right, it is also important for you to be confident in how you are introducing yourself in Spanish. You get to decide based on what is important to you. Remember: If it feels like the right (or wrong) choice, it probably is. Do This To Practice1. Choose your new teacher-name (meant for adult family members). 2. Optional: Write it down and post it somewhere: outside your door, on your desk, above your whiteboard, etc. 3. Practice saying it a few times until you can confidently say it without stumbling over yourself. Now you are all ready for parents and caregivers! Better TogetherHere is a recap of the free resources I shared in this email:
¡Buena suerte! Good luck!
